Upcoming Progress (Nov/12/21)


I wanted to make a quick post and just say thank you to everyone following the project for your interest in my WACK game idea~

This also doubles as an announcement for the next upcoming build of the game!

At the moment, I have a couple goals in mind for the next build release~ What I AM striving to complete for the next update is as follows:

  • Actual ingame locales and areas that can be explored (A portal will exist between the real game are and the starting test room)
  • All 4 skill types fully implemented and usable (Natural Talents, Martial Skills, Magic, and Corpulence)
  • A decent selection of usable skills for said skill types to test out in battle
  • re-organizing the games files to make the overall .zip package FAR less bloated than it needs to be

These items above are the things I absolutely NEED for the next game build, and I'm excited to say I am well into designing some intricate game-world areas thanks to the surprisingly useful tile assets provided by RPG Maker MV! As of now, Magic and Corpulence skills are currently being worked on too; balancing will have to come later as for right now I simply want to have the ideas set-in-stone for them first.  As for the size of the .zip package, the main issue comes in all the audio assets currently loaded into the project file. The hardest part of this is being unsure of which audio files I want to remove, and which ones I want to keep in the meantime in the event that I might need them soon; I'll likely be going back and removing a large chunk of unused bgm files first as they take up the majority of the excess file-space.
